Murrini Monday - Down on the Farm

Are these not the cutest murrini pieces you have ever seen??? Cows, pigs, sheep, owls and CHICKENS! Lori and Kim have surpassed the cuteness limit with these little critters. They're wonderful for artists who don't make critter beads because you can attach them to your pretty beads for a whimsical flair. For those of us who do make critter beads (like me!), I could not resist.

This pug insisted on receiving the first Barn Buddies murrini - he's wearing a pig on his t-shirt. A pug in a pig shirt. I can't wait to figure out how to use the chickens . . .

In my last murrini order, I could not resist the Cupcakes (who can?), and neither could this little kitty with a sweet tooth. She swiped a cupcake and is not letting go.

The final murrini pack I purchased is called Superstar! And let me tell you, these tiny stars are super! I used my smallest ones on these mini owls.

These beads are not for sale just yet - but they'll be featured in my upcoming Trunk Show at Lampwork Bead Artist Jamboree on Facebook. My show will be Aug. 5-6 -- it's my first trunk show and I'm very excited about it! And nervous, too. To bid on my beads or on other artists' beads at their trunk shows, just request to join the group!

Happy Murrini Monday!!!

Happy Catterday!

This is our living room. You're probably wondering why there is a teepee in our living room. It used to be in our basement for the kids to play in when they were little. It folds up nicely and doesn't take up a whole lot of room unless it's set up. Well, the kids don't use it a whole lot anymore, but Ernie and Bert love it! One of the kids set it up in the living room and the cats play in it all the time.

Ernie (the ginger cat) is obsessed with the teepee. He hides in it and springs out at anyone (dog, cat, person) walking by. I think he meditates in there, too.

If we can't find Ernie, he's usually in the teepee.

This is a classic teepee situation. Ernie "hiding" on the inside while Bert innocently walks by. But I think Bert is catching on.

Happy Catterday!

I Heart Cats

That's our black kitten, Bert, suckling on our orange and white kitten, Ernie. Bert is suckling Ernie's paw. I'm starting to understand why Bert is so skinny.

Beware of the kitty under the rug. Danger.

Here's Bert giving Ernie a love bite. It looks like suckling, but this time they were playing.

Ernie is trying to make friends with our older cat, Buzz. Buzz looks annoyed.

Oh look! Cat beads! I guess I was inspired.

Therapy Thursday

These are our cats: Buzz is the black one and Newman is the gray, fuzzy one. We got Buzz about 15 years ago to keep our cat, Fonz (who has since passed away) company. He did much more than that. He chased her and basically tormented her. She would have preferred to be the lone cat in the household. So, to take some pressure off of her, we got Newman - to keep Buzz company, naturally. And although Newman and Buzz are not related, I think of them as brothers. They play together and they play-fight, and as you can see from the picture, Newman takes good care of his big brother.

Yesterday we brought both cats and our dog, Chunky, to the vet to be sprayed for fleas. Poor Newman had them the worst and had been pulling his fur out. We also flea-bombed our house. And now, I'd say it's much more calm here. Newman is not tearing himself apart. Buzz is sleeping peacefully. And the jangle of Chunky's collar didn't wake me up in the middle of the night last night as he scratched and scratched. Ahhhh. Happy Thursday. :)
