Dog + Snow = Love

Our kittens have been getting all the attention around here (and rightfully so, they are so darn cute), but I had to show some love for our dog, Chunky. Winter is by far his favorite season, as you can see from the picture above (taken by my hubby). He doesn't care that it's 2 degrees outside, he wants to play in the snow. And he wants someone to throw his tennis ball for him. That's my hubby's job, and when it's really cold he'll lean out the door and wing the ball across the yard and then pull his head back in to keep warm while Chunky tracks the ball in the snow. And it's always funny when my husband throws the ball and it gets stuck in the fence or on the swingset, and then he has to traipse out there and get it. Does your dog like the snow as much as Chunk?

  1. Look at that wonderful face! Carmelita didn't used to like the snow until this year. She even lets us put her coat on if it means she's going outside. She loves to run and jump and roll around in the snow until she realizes how cold it is then she's had enough. She's a funny pup.

  2. that is an adorable picture. I have a ten month of pekingese puppy and he LOVES the snow. We take him out and he eats as much as he can and hops through it. It is so darn cute.

  3. Your dog is adorable! Pixie hates to get her feet wet. That can be a problem in the winter.

  4. love the picture lauren...we had an english springer named sunny who your dog reminds me of...she used to love the snow too...

now, mr. bean, our bulldog loves the snow too...the colder outside the better...as for chasing balls, well he doesn't quite have the energy for that but he does love to snort, snif and EAT the snow...

thanks for sharing such an adorable dog and a great post...

  5. I don't have any dogs, but my kids do and the Malamute ad Husky absolutely love the snow! They will come out of their houses and get covered in snow and ice and they just love it!
